Abstract

Disability law has long been of considerable interest. This study aims to address the role of disability in the formation of voluntary jurisdiction in Spain, specifically addressing the protective role that the judge —or the mayor, as the case may be— exercised with respect to persons with disabilities, from Roman Law until the first reforms after the Constitution of 1978.
