Abstract

In recent decades, writings about new technologies in most branches of knowledge have increased exponentially. The issues raised are broad, since what has been called the Fourth Industrial Revolution has meant a qualitative leap in all aspects: nanoscience and nanotechnology, biotechnology, life sciences, biomedicine, genetic engineering, information and communication, robotics and artificial intelligence, cognitive sciences and neurosciences and neurotechnologies. This reality is confirmed in the dystopian novel The Circle, by Dave Eggers.
