Abstract

Between VI and II a. C. an international system was developed in the Greek and Hellenistic world in which various juridical and institutional instruments, both internal and external, were key points and would have a great relevance for later models. The different legal models of alliance, the institutional apparatuses of the coalitions, the limitations inherent in the law of war or the recognition of private freedoms of citizens from others states were some of them.
